China Plaza
About This Spot
Stepping into China Plaza on Market Street feels like slipping into a familiar neighborhood haven — the kind of place where the hum of quiet conversation blends effortlessly with the gentle clinking of glasses and the warm sizzle from the kitchen. It’s neither rushed nor pretentious, but a lively spot that carries a bright, cheerful energy, inviting both regulars and newcomers to take their time and savor the moment.
The atmosphere balances ease and vitality, where the welcoming staff add a personal touch without crowding your space. Whether you’re settling in with friends for a casual evening or grabbing a spontaneous meal after a day out, the mood encourages relaxed enjoyment and genuine connection.
At its heart, China Plaza feels like a crossroads of comforting flavors and spirited choices. Walking through the menu is a journey across textures and tastes — from tender, savory bites featuring familiar favorites to dishes with a satisfying kick that awaken the palate. There’s an unmistakable care in how the offerings arrive: warm, generous portions that speak to a kitchen confident in its roots but unafraid to surprise.
Drinks are thoughtfully considered companions here too, with colorful cocktails and classic spirits that add a festive note without overwhelming the evening. Ideas like a shareable Scorpion Bowl or thoughtfully crafted specialty entrees invite moments that stretch into laughter and stories — the kind of human moments that turn a simple dinner into something memorable.
For those who’ve passed by without pausing, China Plaza reveals itself as a local treasure waiting to be discovered — a place where the food comforts, the staff remembers you, and the atmosphere quietly encourages you to return again and again.

We went to China Plaza because it was convenient. It worked out well..2 Scorpion Bowls, some Chinese..and Keno. Nice lady serving us, good time. Bright cheerful place with good vibes.

Listen, I’ve lived on the South Shore my whole life — thought I’d seen it all. Drove by China Plaza in Rockland a thousand times on my way to Target, never thought twice. Then one fateful Friday night, I decided to give it a shot… and my life will now forever be divided into Before China Plaza and After China Plaza. This was my first time ever trying Chinese food, and I swear I saw God somewhere between the crab rangoon and the General Tso’s. The chicken fingers? Golden perfection — like they were hand-delivered by the Big Y deli angels. The lo mein? I didn’t even know what lo mein was before tonight. Now I’d defend it like it’s part of my family. I sat there in awe, dipping egg rolls like I was born to do it. My buddy from Hanover tried to steal one and I almost caused a scene — that’s how serious this food is. The sweet and sour sauce? I’d wear it as cologne to a wedding in Weymouth. To anyone on Route 139 wondering if it’s worth stopping — do it. Pull in, thank me later, and prepare to ascend to a higher plane of South Shore existence. 10/10 — China Plaza didn’t just serve me dinner; they served me purpose.

Food was good but on the greasy side. Good customer service and nice size portions.

Went to China Plaza for the first time this weekend. We ate in the dining room. Ordered a scorpion bowl for 2, which arrived quick and was delicious. Ordered food which also arrived quick and was hot and fresh! Beef Teriyaki was a highlight as it was tender and flavorful. Sweet and Sour chicken was also great, not too much breading which is how we like it. Fried rice was good, a little dry but would still order again. Will return again to try more items on the menu!
